Adult Beanie Pattern


Adult Beanie Made of all Half Double Crochets

Hdc- half double crochet
Sl- Slip Stitch
Ch- Chain
St- Stitch
* Repeat till the end of last stitch

When adding colors to your pattern I add when I chain up so the colors intertwine with each other

Ch 4 & join w/ sl st to make circle

Round 1: ch 1, 9 hdc in ring, join with sl st (9 hdc total)

Round 2: ch 1, *2 hdc in each hdc* , join with sl st (18 hdc total)

Round 3: ch 1, *hdc in next hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc*  than join with sl st (27 hdc total)

Round 4: ch 1, *hdc in next 2 hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc*  than join with sl st (36 hdc total)

Round 5: ch 1, *hdc in next 3 hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc*  than join with sl st (45 hdc total)

Round 6: ch 1, *hdc in next 4 hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc*  than join with sl st (54 hdc total)

Round 7: ch 1, *hdc in next 5 hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc*  than join with sl st (63 hdc total)

Round 8: ch 1, *hdc in next 6 hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc * than join with sl st (72 hdc total)

Round 9-20: ch 1, *hdc in each hdc*  than join with sl st (72 hdc total)

Increasing each round gives you a rounder crown. The # of rounds can vary depending on long you want the hat. The hat fits an average adult size!

  1. I was just wondering... what hook size and yarn weight is this project done in?

  2. I used a worsted yarn by red heart and size I hook. Let me know it you have any problems. I do sometimes like to use a size g hook and same yarn. The children's hat was made with a size g hook.

  3. I used a size J hook with worsted and since I crochet firmly I added three extra increases evenly spaced on the ninth row and added a couple more rows. Love this pattern! Thanks! :)
